Evaluation design for digital

One of the main problems with my design practice is time management and funding. for this project the fund have not been a problem and my time management has been loads better, not great but i feel like ive made headway and im on the right path . on this project i laid out a plan and stuck pretty close, as it turns out i underestimated how long iweb would take but sticking to a rota was important and i hope this is the start of better project management.
like i just mentioned i left iweb i little late, but im satisfied that it represents the process i took during the project, but it may not be a great web site in its own right. i found the iweb software really frustrating, and i was one of the lucky ones where it didn't go that wrong, the site should have a animated opening page but it kept moving and stopping the rest of the site loading so it had to go.
i am happy with my final resolution. a couple of sound fx didn't load and i couldn't fix them. so had to do without but i don't feel it loses too much as a result, Im looking forward to doing more animation, i've always fancied a go at stop motion, audiencethis project was a refreshing change because my house is not as much of a tip, due to random paper, and it was nice been able reorder you work for your audience which is impossible in a sketch book. but i still find the process laborious. the animation its self went smoothly and i managed to dodge the dread computer mess up until today when blogger would not let me on to write this, which was off putting.
as for the project its self ive found several new skills which im really pleased about although i was disappointed with my final story boards, i just don't think their a fair representation of the work that went into the whole i feel like they let the side down i little bit, but i know the worst cock-up of them all was the losing of the silent movie story boards i can not for the life of me find them which is a shade annoying.

The Cintiq

Product Description
The Cintiq 21UX interactive pen display provides the best-of-class pen experience for working directly on the screen. It combines the advantages of a large-format LCD monitor with the control, comfort, and productivity of Wacom's most sophisticated patented cordless, battery-free pen technology. With a 21.3-inch TFT diagonal display, the Cintiq 21UX delivers a highly sensitive pen-on-screen experience and a generous active area for working directly on large images, concepts, and designs in the most natural way possible. Working directly with the pen on screen is a natural motion that gives you an unprecedented degree of control and allows you to take advantage of natural hand-eye coordination, helping you work more intuitively and noticeably faster. The display's completely flat surface allows the hand and pen to glide over the surface of the Cintiq without bumping into any bezels or borders. A dynamically-adjustable stand allows you to rotate the display up to 180 degrees in each direction, incline the display from 10 to 65 degrees, and even remove it for comfortable lap use. Rear roller feet make the incline adjustments easy; the result is freedom to adjust the interactive display to positions that work for you. Strategically-placed ExpressKeys and Touch Strips are programmable, allowing you to customize your Cintiq to your needs. The ExpressKeys are easily accessible on either side of the display and provide quick access to keyboard shortcuts, modifier keys, and functions that minimize dependence on the keyboard for uninterrupted work sessions. Finger-sensitive Touch Strips are located on either side of the display for easy zooming, scrolling, or making tool adjustments without taking focus away from the pen tip.

Watchmen motion comic

I really enjoyed this, its nice to be able to put in on my phone and watch it on the train, the only negative is the guy who narrates also does the voices even the female parts are played by him which is a bit of a shame, if your going to go to the trouble of animating the comic you could at least shell out for the actors

i phone apps

Iphone and i pod apps are becoming a massive part of peoples lives, i myself have about twenty five some are pointless like the lightsaber app or the MR T quote app (unless you have to pity some fools of course). But some are really useful and obvouisly someone took a great deal of time and skill to design and program, i feel its really exciting that this new industry is starting to bloom and the timing for new graphic designers and other creative types is

Cheap animation from Marvel in the Sixties

being an iron man fanatic i own all of these cartoons which are nothing more than the early comics crudely animated. what i hope to do is use this cheap retro style of animation for my martial arts animation, to give it that low budget feel, plus ill have a low budget so that should help as well, like the tacky kung fu films of the Sixties and Seventies

James Bond. Casino Royale opening credits

Bond open credits have always been a target for lampooning and satire, but i think that Casino Royale's is excellent, even the song, which i did not like at first has grown on me and fits well with the new bad ass Bond.

300 opening credits

For me being a film and comic nerd the mix of the two is rarely a great thing, the fantastic four films and that catwoman farse, are all the proof i need but every so often i great film is made 300 is one of them not in terms of story or performance but having the courage to think "sod it lets make this gory and stylish and be true to the original material" and the opening credits sets the stall out for this beautifully.

Amazing Audi Advert

This is so clever, it makes me sick with envy. Its an amazing idea, beautifully realized with a heart warming wholesomeness that makes you almost forget your watching a car advert, I think it transcends the gender bias which car adverts normally use, a sporty car, is predominately aimed at the male audience, in contrast to the nippy hatch back with adverts that are more geared to the lady's.
